Garden Club of Colleges Nine and Ten

"Got Garden?" say students of the inaugural C9/C10 Community Garden Class, Fall 2013

Welcome to the homepage of the Garden Club of Colleges Nine and Ten!

About Us

Our club is a student-initiated project with a goal of building and maintaining a thriving organic garden at Colleges Nine and Ten. Our club has community meals every Wednesday from 5:30-6:30 at the Colleges Nine and Ten Community Room. We encourage students and members of other sustainable food system groups on campus to come join our meetings as a way to learn what we are all about, and see how we can collaborate.

You may email the Garden Club at c9c10garden@googlegroups.com, and staff coordinator Linnea Beckett at lbeckett@ucsc.edu

Mission Statement

The Colleges Nine and Ten Garden Project is a movement for the creation of a community garden at Colleges Nine and Ten. Having a garden would integrate into the themes of both colleges by educating the students on social justice and international topics relating to agriculture, which has become the foundation of human existence in the modern world. We will be bringing together students, staff, faculty, and off-campus experts to promote an educational environment through classes, volunteering, and events. Together, we will learn about gardening and sustainability.
