C9/JRLC Assistant Director of Colleges Advising, Adrian Campos Arenas (He/Him)
About Me
As a son of two immigrant parents from México, I did not know much about college other than it was something that I should want to pursue. Looking back at my time as a UCSC undergrad, I feel as if I missed something during my time here. This is why I believe it is important to support students in navigating higher ed institutions and having meaningful educational experiences instead of just earning a diploma.
Since graduating from UCSC, I have chosen to use the skills that I developed during my undergrad experience to support students navigate and understand complex academic policies and procedures. I know now that supporting folxs can include a range of different areas and services. More recently, I have seen that impacts that community building, self-expression and the arts have a direct impact on an individual and community health.
Outside of work hours, you can find me being involved with community theater, discovering new music and spending time with friends/family/loved ones. I look forward to being an advocate and partner in your educational journey.
