Room Reservations
College Nine and John R. Lewis College have several facilities available for gatherings and events. Review the 2024-2025 UCSC Venue and Rates. You can also contact roomres@ucsc.edu with any questions.
Multipurpose Room (MPR)
To request a reservation please complete the Event Centers Reservation Form. If you have any questions please contact a Reservations and Events Coordinator at roomres@ucsc.edu.
The College Nine and John R. Lewis College Multipurpose Room is a multi-use facility, functioning primarily as a dining space. It is available for reservation a limited number of times per week as it’s actively used each day by the College Nine and John R. Lewis College Dining Hall. Check the table below for availability schedule of the MPR.
Cost for Registered Student Organizations: $0 (New for 2024!)
Cost for all other groups: $350
Capacity: 350 audience-style, 200 at tables
Default Set-up: Tables and chairs arranged for dining (click for diagram)

The MPR is available for a maximum of three events per week – one weekday event, one weekend daytime event, and one weekend evening event.
Namaste Lounge

The College Nine Namaste Lounge is a multi-use facility, functioning primarily as a student lounge space. It is available for reservation a limited number of times per week.
Cost for Registered Student Organizations: $0 (New for 2024!)
Cost for all other groups: $100
Capacity: 100 standing / 70 audience-style
Default Set-up: Lounge seating, 70 stacked chairs (click for diagram)
Social Sciences Lawn
To request a reservation please complete the Outdoor Venues Reservation Form. If you have any questions please contact a Reservations and Events Coordinator at roomres@ucsc.edu.
Space Usage: This outdoor space is located in the social and academic center of College 9 and is a gathering spot with nearby access to multiple locations. It is in close proximity to the University Center, Multipurpose Room, and College 9 Residence Halls. The Social Sciences Lawn is available for reservation for occasional events.
